Only one more post about my vacation and then I’ll spare you the torment. But this is a very important post. One that I will forever remember as “Knock me over with a feather. . . My youngest is engaged!”

Yep folks! My youngest born child called me as I was in a van with Demery, her daughter and Mo about to cross over the Canadian border to visit another blog friend, Cindy.

Adam – “Hey Mama!”
Me – “Hey baby! How’s your weekend going?”
Adam – “Oh Mama, I’m HAPPY! Couldn’t be happier!”
Me – “Well, I’m glad you’re having such a good weekend.”
Adam – “Did you get Shelley’s text?”
Me – “No, when did she text me?”
Adam – “Last night”
Me – “No. I got one the night I got here, but nothing since then. Why?”
Adam – “We’re ENGAGED!”

Enter – Knock me over with a feather!

Mo was listening and got all excited, shrieking, “Auntie Mo wants to go to the wedding! When is it?”

Adam – “Well, she may as well get on the plane with you when you come home.”

Enter – ALL the air escaped my lungs.

Me – “What?!?!?!”
Adam – “Yes Mama. We’re IN LOVE!”

I think I fainted.
I came to in Canada where they eat gravy with their french fries.

Anyway, I got home and have been at a dead run ever since. They set the date for Friday, September 11. They’ll be going to the Justice of the Peace. Then we’ll have the reception on Sunday afternoon. Could they have given me ONE more week to work on this? NO – They’re IN LOVE, remember?

So shopping we went. First, you have to understand how much each of us (me, Adam AND Shelley) DETEST shopping. Shopping online is okay, but shopping shopping, not so much. But with one weeks notice, shopping shopping was a MUST.

Adam did okay. He pissed and moaned a little – not nearly as much as I had thought he would. I had to break out the Big Bad Mama TONE only once. . . “YES, you WILL try that on! And you’ll do it without the bellyaching!” No questions. BAM!

I’ve continued shopping for said reception sans the happy couple. Thank goodness for texts and camera phones. They’re gonna get what I can pull together in a week. I don’t have time for petty things like “decisions”. We’ve got colors down and food preferences, so I’m hittin’ it and gettin’ it!

I’ve got a reception in less than a week!!

WISH THEM LUCK!!
