The Superbowl/Birthday party was fantastic!! There was LOTS of food. . . of course. . . and lots of friends. And the game was great! Half of the group was cheering for Arizona and the other half was cheering for Pittsburgh. And we all know how that turned out! Woohoo! Pittsburgh Steelers!
It’s not that I have anything at all invested in either team, or football in general. It’s just that I have a talent for just KNOWING who’s going to win. I could have created logic in my brain to deduce reasoning for wanting Arizona to win since they’ve never been to the Superbowl. It would be nice to have a newbie win. But then I could also deduce that my in-laws are from the Pittsburgh area and have been huge football fans long before they ever met me, so that would seem logical to cheer for them. Neither reason affected my choice. Nope. I went with my gut. . . which is how I always managed to pick the winners in Football Pool. (My boys and their dad stopped playing with me halfway through the season) And my gut said that the Steelers were going to win. . . whether I wanted them to or not.
The commercials are always a highlight during the Superbowl. It’s stunning how much money is spent on advertisements during this one single event every year. But I tell you, it really breaks out the imagination. My favorite was the Doritos commercial.
Everybody was outside smoking during the commercials when they heard me laughing outloud in the house at this commercial. Thank goodness for the DVR because I was able to rewind it so they could watch it too – over and over.
This one was one of their favorites too! Also Doritos.

The 3-D commercial was pretty good, but just looking at everybody in these special glasses was funnier to me.
That was all fun, but the best part of the night was the FOOD. I laid out A SPREAD! I tried all kinds of new recipies. Usually that’s sorta risky because inevitably SOMETHING doesn’t turn out as fabulous as it sounded or was recommended. But this time, I had big hits all around.

I’ll be sharing all of those appetizer recipies throughout the week. They ALL rocked!

Those doritos guys were amateurs and made a million dollars off a 2,000 commerical they made.. Dang I am thinking of changing careers!!
take care : )
I loved the doritos crystal ball commercial but I couldn’t stop laughing at that stupid Budlight Office meeting commercial for the life of me. The air time that guy got in that chair on the way to the ground . . .
