If you’re ever in the Seattle and need a tour guide (or two), I have a great recommendation. My friends, Mo and Deb, make fabulous tour guides. They’ve lived there their entire lives (and we won’t get into how long that’s been – love you girls!) and they both work in downtown Seattle, so they are VERY familiar with the city streets.

These two women showed me Seattle IN STYLE. We began with the ferry ride to Bainbridge Island. What a FUN way to see Seattle at its finest. Breathtaking views!

Even this one??? Ooops! How did that get in there? Our little hotties we met on the ferry BECAUSE apparently Deb has never met a stranger, especially totally hot young med student strangers.

After the ferry ride, Deb treated Mo and I to lunch at a place called Salty’s on Alki Beach in West Seattle, where both Mo and Deb grew up. She’d had her wedding reception there many years ago, so it’s been there awhile. The weather was PERFECT, so we ate out on the deck.

Deb ordered a bottle of wine and I was instructed that I HAD to eat salmon at least once while in Seattle. You don’t have to twist my arm twice. I ordered the CEDAR-SMOKED WILD COHO SALMON with Mashed Potatoes, Bacon Vinaigrette-Tossed
Spring Pea Sprouts, Local Fruit Preserves, with Cider Gastrique.

Melt in your mouth delicious! It was such great weather, great wine, great food and great friends. It couldn’t have been any better! Perfection. Thanks Deb!

Okay. . . speaking of Deb. I have to set the record straight. When I first met Deb in Las Vegas 2 1/2 years ago with the other RahRahs, my first impression was that she was “quiet”. I’m pretty sure I threw “smart” and other flattering things in there too, but all she remembers is “quiet”. Well, after spending several days with Deb, you can rest assured that “quiet” she is NOT. But I wouldn’t love her as much if she were. I wouldn’t have learned as much or seen as much or had as much fun in Seattle if she were QUIET.

After lunch, I got a tour of downtown. We rode through the University of Washington where Mo’s oldest boy will be going this year. Yay William!!

I will now pay attention to the Huskies.

The next day, we did another tour. This one on foot AND on trolley. The South Lake Union Trolley, otherwise referred to as The SLUT. You know I had to get the t-shirt, cuz I AM just redneck enough to wear it.

However, because of the little suburban bubble this redneck lives in, I wasn’t quite prepared for some of the sites. Sites like. . .

Homeless people on the sidewalks.

Girls walking around in bras in 60 degree weather.

People walking around holding pigeons. Not a parakeet. A PIGEON! It took me aback a bit.

All was not too scary though since I WAS amongst friends riding the SLUT and walking the streets. Here are some shots of Seattle through a tourists’ eyes.

I give it up to Deb that she would ride the pig at Pike’s Place Public Market. Nice crotch shot!

Yes, I had to have my fortune read just like Tom Hanks did in his movie, “Big” because I AM just touristy enough.

It was a fantastic visit! And to think it was all due to the Internet and a little bitty blog. Who knew that I would make lifelong friends.

Thank you everybody for such a great vacation!!!

Now I need to prepare the city of Virginia Beach for the RahRahs!! Look out VB!!
