I’ve been getting a soaring number of hits on this site looking for this video. I had no idea that Harpo, Inc had taken it off of YouTube. However, I found it somewhere else, so I’ve updated the clip. The link is at the bottom of this post. If you haven’t seen this little girl sing, it’s a MUST SEE MUST HEAR video.
Hello, my name is Donna, and I am a SAP! Either that, or menopause has left me with a crying hormone that I don’t remember ever being quite so out of control. I cried reading The Pioneer Woman’s post about her retarded brother. (Hey, she calls him that too. I’m not being mean.) I cried during The Young and the Restless yesterday when Neil explained to Victoria that Victor’s only request when he handed the company over to Neil was that he rehire Victoria. And I boohoo’d like a baby when I watched Oprah and her talented kids. Jeez oh man! We’re talking paper towels were soggied, not prissy little tissues. Paper towels! Soaked, people.
Oprah did a show last year with several super talented little kids. They were amazing! If I had half the talent that some of these kids have in their little pinky finger, I’d be something. But there was one girl. . . a sixteen year old girl from The Phillipines, who sang Celine Dion’s songs better than Celine Dion could sing them. She blew me away! This girl would hit one of those high notes belting it out from her toes and I couldn’t help myself. . .the waterworks ensued. I couldn’t have been more moved if she were my own child. The talent that this girl possesses is out of this world.
You can read the story here. But a brief synopsis is that her mother discovered that she could sing like this when she was four years old. She thought she was listening to the radio when she walked in the room to find that it was, in fact, her daughter. She put her in talent show after talent show her whole life, and a complete stranger put a video of her singing in one of these talent shows out on YouTube where it was discovered by Oprah’s producers. They brought her to the show where Oprah was so impressed that she called David Foster, the music mogul, and this little girl’s dreams all started coming true. Isn’t that something?!!
I am tellin’ you. It had me sobbing like a baby. I’ve been to The Phillipines before. In fact, that’s where my youngest was conceived. (Yeah, I know – TMI) Anyway, this child was poor. And it’s a poor like we here in the United States don’t know. I remember my heart feeling like lead; it was so heavy with sadness when I saw where they lived and how they lived. And what touched me so much about this little girl is that she didn’t let that bring her down or negate her dreams. She has such heart and hope and determination that can only come from a place so deep in dispair that I was moved to tears. I was so happy for her. I was so moved by her spirit. I was so impressed by her talent. So I cried. Therefore, not only has a Star been born, a Sap has been created. I’m tellin’ you. I need to get a grip.
It is just something about children and their hearts so pure that touch me so. This girl will become big in the music world. There’s no doubt. I truly believe that she will be our next Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey or a female version of Josh Grobin even. Charice is her name. If you missed her on Oprah’s show, go watch this. Tell me if you can watch it without crying!
With David Foster’s guiding hand, you will hear much more from this girl. Hopefully, I can stop crying every time she sings sometime in the near future so I can stop going to Saps Anonymous.

I only hope that OPRAH would follow this up so we all could see what happens when she really meets her.I can only imagine what they sound like together.
I am so happy for her and her mother.. LIKe David said this girl sings from her soul and all the pain and such comes right out of her.
AMAZING just amazing…
Sometimes we really need something to release all we have been holding back for awhile. I bet you cleansed your tear ducts really well. Hope the rest of your week will be great. : )
I’m a total sap too. I also got teary at the PW post. Children singing ALWAYS makes me cry. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one!
damn… I think I should stay in IT – cos THAT’S talent!
sheesh, as for the whole weepy thing, when my ma went through menopause (not that im saying you are or anything, you could be, you might not be… what do I now) she described herself as a weepy rotweiller! I have never been a hugely emotional person, but you never know – it could happen!
I hope you have huge stocks of paper towel, if not, use a normal one, they soak up a whole heap more and you can just throw them out on the line to dry, and then re-use
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Lotsa love to you my friend

Her duet with Celine Dion of BECAUSE YOU LOVED ME (to be dedicated to their respective mothers) will be shown on OPRAH on September 19 per Oprah’s website.
You have to listen to the songs in her myspace player to appreciate the beauty of her voice. Here is the link (the music player containing some songs – some were sang live like MHWGO, IHN and You’ll Never Walk Alone – are on the right side of:

You are not alone. Just read the posts on Charice YT videos. She regularly affects people that way. Being moved, tearing up, open crying, smiling and sobbing all at the same time.
It’s all a part of the Charice experience!
