Hello!! My name is Donna, aka Yellow Jeep Blonde, for lack of a better nickname since I’m not terribly creative. I’m more of the nerdy type than the creative type. And since I am more nerdy, I’m taking on the task of creating my own site. I started blogging in February 2006 on MSN Spaces. And while Spaces has been good to me and while I’ve made several really good friends there, I thought I’d see what I could do on my own. You know – the nerd thing again.
This thing is only in its beginning stages – a little green. . . .well, blue as it is right now. That will probably change in time. I’ve got a lot to learn and a lot I’d like to do here and am learning as I go. Suggestions, ideas, tips of any kind are ALL welcome. In fact, please. Anything creative especially.
Let’s see. Who am I and what is this site all about? Basically I’m a cross between a beach bum and a computer nerd with a fondness for the sun, margaritas and cold beer. Not necessarily in that order. I have two grown boys whom I adore and like to feed every chance I get. Funny how I didn’t really enjoy cooking so much until they grew up and moved out. Now I lure them over with the likes of a home-cooked meal whenever they’re free. I’m not ashamed to admit bribery.
I drive a yellow Jeep Wrangler because it’s fun and it sorta fits me, I think, AND it’s a blast on the beach!
The beach is my favorite place to be. The sun, the beach, the cold beer. . . my idea of the perfect vacation day. Other than that, I’m on the computer. My job.
So I have a picture of the beach I go to in North Carolina (a hop, skip and a jump down the road) and a picture of the Jeep. Now I need to get a picture of the Jeep ON the beach. If I could afford the gas to go down there.
Well this is just the beginning. I’m learning how to use my new camera (I never dreamed that it would be this complicated) and how to use Photoshop (which is freakishly difficult so far). Plus I plan to take pictures of my food – my other favorite thing besides the beach. I’m a freak about recipe books and love to cook and share. Basically, this site will be me sharing all the stuff I’m learning how to do to fill my free time now that my kids are grown and I’m not running willy nilly at wharp speed.
Feel free to leave me a comment (or two) with your ideas and suggestions. I need creative input in a BAD way!!! Help me!!

LOVE YOU!!!!!
Love’d reading this. I’m adding you to my blogroll.
I’m have been using Photoshop for about 9 years. Just be patient with it – and there are so many free tutorials online, and brushes, and actions. What kind of camera did you buy? I want a Nikon D80 REAL BAD! oh and a new computer to go with it.
I guess you read my BLOG or parts of it. I post recipes from time to time. Maybe you could share some of your recipes with me. I’m always collecting recipes.
Have a great 4th and welcome to BLOGGING. It is addictive.
Looks great Donna.. can’t wait to see what else you come up with. I love the introduction and how it tells all about WHY your blog got it’s name. so many places do not explain why they gave it the name they picked out.
I love recipes too. lets see your collection.. take some pics…are they in books or what.. I have so many books I had to put them in a box and now I have to hunt them when I want to find something. How sad.. someday I will have them displayed I guess. a gal can always hope. A recipe of the week is a good idea too…I used to do that on my wordpressblog a long time ago. Gave it up.. ya know .. recipes hard to look up.. started a recipe space all that stuff..Have a fun time here.. put you on my list too. Take care.. : )
Heyyy…

Hey . . . I’d go into it all but he’s in the shower and that’s just not enough time. Anyhow, I’ll get through it. If the day ever comes that I make the decision, having my career going will make it less painful and easier on my stress level. So that’s my focus now. And the girls! Hugs to you.
Thank you for posting your web site. I was having a gloomy day and reading the stories you have posted made me feel better. It is hard being a single mom and I found your web site very much full of hope.
Hi Donna – I saw you over at Marlene’s place, I’m local too (Virginia Beach) and look forward to reading your blog. I love to cook and bake too!
