I took this from my friend, DeWitte. He is so funny. You should read his answers to this survey. I especially love the picture at the bottom. I stole it from his site as well. Hope you don’t mind DeWitte. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?

::::::::: Directions: Copy and change all the answers so they apply to you. ::::::::

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I like to wrap gifts. I only use gift bags when I’m in a hurry, but rarely for Christmas because it’s too easy to sneak a peek.

2. Real tree or artificial? Over the years, I’ve had both. But three years ago, when I was shopping for a real tree, they were all about $80 – $100. My brain started doing the calculations, balancing logic with reality. The kids are grown now. Etc. So, I bought a fake tree for $89.99 and I just reuse that every year with a different color scheme.

3. When do you put up the tree? Somewhere in the first week or two of December.

4. When do you take the tree down? Usually over the New Years holiday.

5. Do you like eggnog? Honestly, I’m not a big fan. And when I heard about the 10,000 calories. . . I’ve really opted to save that waste of calories on something much more delicious.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? When I was about 8, Little Kiddles were the “thing to have”. My neighbors all had a bunch of them along with the little doll accessories. I had one Little Kiddle doll and NO accessories. But on Christmas, my mom had converted a cardboard box into a Little Kiddle house complete with windows that looked out to scenes cut from magazines, curtains from pieces of fabric and glued to the box, carpet for each room cut from different colored pieces of fabric, and a set of Little Kiddle furniture. I LOVED my box house! She made it to where it folded up and held all of the accessories, thus portable, so I could take it back and forth to my friend’s houses. I liked it better than their store bought Little Kiddle house. Deep down, I think they did too.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? I’ve actually got a couple, but I don’t decorate nearly as much as I used to when the kids were younger.

8. Hardest person to buy for? Each year it’s somebody different. Throughout the year, I get ideas for that perfect gift for everyone on my list. The person that doesn’t make THAT list somewhere throughout the year is the hardest person for me to buy for. I hate trying to think of something to get someone. I like knowing what the perfect gift is for them while they’re not aware that I know.

9. Easiest person to buy for? That would be my oldest child, Chris, because he WANTS EVERYTHING.

10. Worst Christmas gift ever received? Gosh, I don’t know. One year when I was little, we each got a box of Mr. Bubbles and that was it. I wouldn’t say it was the worst, but it was sorta disappointing.

11. Mail or email Christmas card? Mail! There’s just something special about physically getting something in the mail.

12. Favorite Christmas movie? National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation!
CLARK: “Where do you think you’re going? Nobody’s leaving. Nobody’s walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We’re all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We’re gonna press on, and we’re gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he’s gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse.”

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I’m freaking out as I write this post.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Recycled..like re-gifted? I don’t recall, but I’ve certainly received a few. I got a book from my sister that had her husband’s boarding pass inside it from a flight he’d taken somewhere. I thought it was funny. Especially because she still denies that it was recycled.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Yes.

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Clear. I like how they twinkle like stars.

17. Favorite Christmas song? Carol of the Bells. I love all the different versions of it. Especially this one.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay at home? Home – always. How else will Santa know how to find me?

19. Can you name Santa’s reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen – and Rudolph, of course.

20. Do you have an angel on top or a star? Star. It goes with my white twinkling lights that look like stars.

21. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Rude people.

22. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas Day – I like to torture my children.
