Since my return from the Land of the Lost, I’m unstoppable! The stars got back into line, I reckon. I’m feeling more like the old me again. (And I DO mean OLD – more on that later in the week)
Last week at my neighborhood pool, we had a Going Away BBQ get-together for a sweet couple, Jessica and Matt, who moved back home to New York.

Here’s cute little Jessica. Always sweet and bubbly.

And that’s Matt in the blue swim trunks. He’s our local Grill Master. Or he WAS. What are we going to do now? I’m totally Grill Challenged. I do my cooking on the inside.

Here they’re setting up. These folks have this barbequing thing down to a science. And are always ready to host a shindig for any number of reasons. Heck, sometimes we make up our own reason. We do this sort of thing for ALL our friends we make at the pool, like when Dena and Jason moved to Puerto Rico.

They left a couple of years ago. We always miss our friends, but we always send them out in style.

Lots of good friends, good food, and, of course, delicious beverages. (I wish Miss ‘N’ would stop trying to hide from the camera. It looks like she’s picking her nose.)
I took my Hashbrown Casserole and a Blueberry Cobbler and my Miller Lite. (Some of my standard classics. Like I said in yesterday’s post, I was lacking my creative mojo.) I rarely go anywhere empty-handed though.
We make good friends each year, and sadly many move away. That’s the downfall of living in a military area, or in the military life for that matter. It doesn’t mean we won’t miss our friends.
Good luck Jessica and Matt!!!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI think it’s so awesome you’re friends with your neighbors. We’re military and that is one of the toughest things for me. When we lived in FL and now in CT I’ve rarely even met my neighbors. I hope one day we settle in a neighborhood where people actually talk to each other! lol
Looks like y’all had a great time!
