I’m a 40 something year old simple girl from Mississippi – a cross between a beach bum and a computer nerd with a fondness for margaritas and cold beer. I work hard. I relax hard. I’ve been around the world, won a car on The Price Is Right, successfully raised two boys on my own for the most part, battled early menopause and lived to tell about it. Here are my boys. . .
all grown up. They don’t need their mom so much anymore. So I find myself in a whole new world. One that doesn’t involve carpooling, soccer games, homework and all that jazz. What do you do AFTER they grow up?
The first thing I did was trade in the four-door sedan (the MOM-mobile) for a 4-wheel drive Jeep Wrangler.

You see, I LOVE the beach. I LOVE driving on the beach. However, the beach isn’t so fun in the winter, so again, I had all this time and energy to deal with. So I started cooking. Now, I know what you’re thinking. . .Surely she had to have cooked something all these years. . . surely her boys didn’t grow up on chicken nuggets and Spagettios. And you would be right. I DID cook. The difference now is that I get to cook what I want to, when I want to and because I want to – not because I HAVE to. What a difference! I find that I LOVE to cook! I’m a complete freak about recipe books! I’m scared to try to count them. I’ve always loved photography too and I thought, “How hard can that be?” I looked around and shopped off and on for a couple of years until I found just the right deal. For Christmas 2007, I bought myself a Canon Rebel . . . . followed shortly thereafter by a book on how to use the dang thing. It’s a teensy bit more complicated than I thought. Who knew? But I’m a determined sort. I WILL figure it out. . . .. eventually.
Now I plan share recipes and take photos (sometimes at the same time) and share stories with my blog friends.
